Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend the 125th session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Buenos Aires to compete with Tokyo and Madrid in the bid to host the Summer Olympic Games of 2020, ITAR-TASS reports.
Erdogan will arrive in Buenos Aires after the G20 meeting in Saint Petersburg.
Head of the Istanbul-2020 Organization Committee Hasan Arat said that the bid to host the games had gained full support of the Turkish government.
The 125th IOC session will be held on September 7-10. The agenda of the meeting includes election of the 2020 host of the Olympic Games, new IOC president and the 26th type of sports to be listed in the Olympic program of 2020 (wrestling, baseball/softball or squash rackets).
