Former deputy governor of Kakhetia David Adeishvili, brother of Georgia's former justice minister Zurab Adeishvili, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the Telavi city court. The trial has been held in the absence of the defendant.
Adeishvili is accused of abuse of power. His lawyer has condemned the sentence as unfair and said that the defense would challenge the court's decision.
