Armenia will join Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, president says

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan says his country will join the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan and take part in the Eurasian Union project. Russian President Vladimir Putin says he welcomes this decision.

 

"Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has announced that his country had decided to join the Customs Union and to take part in the Eurasian Union project," RIA Novosti cites a joint statement as saying.

 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov says the two states will now start talks concerning the integration process.
