Turkish Ambassador Hussein Avni Botsali will return to Egypt today.
The ambassador was called off for consultations on August 16, to which Egypt responded with withdrawing its Ambassador Abdurrahman Salahaddin.
Tensions between the two states were provoked by Egypt’s accusing Turkey of interfering in its home affairs. Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said called the crackdown of President Mohammad Morsi’s supporters by the military (resulting in over 2,000 citizens killed) a genocide.
