Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s special representative will pay an official visit to Iran this week in order discuss the ongoing crisis in Syria with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Iranian state-run media outlet Press TV reports on Wednesday.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, Masahiko Komura, vice president of the country’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), will leave for Tehran on Friday for two days of negotiations.
Komura, who is Japan's former foreign minister, is also expected to discuss bilateral relations between the two states as well as other international issues during his visit to the Islamic Republic.
