EU halts Twinning cooperation with Armenia

The EU has halted cooperation with Armenia within the framework of the Twinning program as a response to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s plans to joint the Customs Union, Trend reports.

The Twinning program launched in 2009 has resulted in realization of about 18 projects to reform the state structures according to EU standards and law.

Sargsyan plans to join the Eurasian Economic Union. Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed the decision and offered support.
