Georgia and Benelux discuss cooperation

Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili met Didier Reynders (Belgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, Minister for Finance and Institutional Reforms), Frans Timmermans (Foreign Minister of Netherlands) and Jean Asselborn (Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Migration of Luxembourg), Trend reports.

After the meeting with Ivanishvili, the officials met Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze. They discussed bilateral relations, upcoming presidential polls and preparations for the Vilnius summit.

Reynders noted that Belgium was supporting democratic developments in Georgia and called its presidential polls of 2013 and local elections of 2014 important events.

Timmermans assured that Netherlands will support Georgian economic developments and employment efforts.

The Benelux officials will met Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili during his two-day visit, members of parliament and representatives of the civil society.
