Russia, Georgia and Abkhazia have agreed to open the Abkhaz Railway, a railway disrupted in the Georgian-Abkhaz war (1992-1993), News Armenia cites Artur Bagdasaryan, Secretary of the Armenian National Security Council.
The problem was discussed at a meeting of Russian and Armenian Presidents Vladimir Putin and Serzh Sargsyan on September 3.
Bagdasaryan noted that Putin had expressed readiness to provide 15 billion for Armenian railway transportation.
Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili had pointed out the need for restoration of the Abkhaz Railway earlier.
