US and Kazakh leaders meet during G20 summit

US President Barack Obama met with his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev during the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. The parties discussed possible enhancement of their bilateral relations, regional security and nuclear non-proliferation.

President Obama previously cancelled his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin due to Russia's role in the Edward Snowden case, severe human rights violations in the country and the Kremlin's position on the Syrian crisis.
