US President Barack Obama briefly discussed the Syrian crisis with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during the G20 summit in St. Petersburg. The meeting last for about 20 minutes.
The official meeting of the two presidents, that had been scheduled to be held in Moscow, was cancelled by the US administration ahead of the event. President Obama blamed Putin for "cold war mentality" and said that no successful cooperation seemed possible in such circumstances.
