US evacuates its diplomats from south-eastern Turkey

The United States tightened security at diplomatic missions in Lebanon and Turkey on Friday due to threats, ordering personnel out of Lebanon and offering to evacuate those in Adana in south-eastern Turkey, Hurriyet Daily News reports on Friday night.

The US State Department also warned American citizens against traveling to Lebanon and south-eastern Turkey, and urged Americans staying in Turkey "to be alert to the potential for violence."
