Ingush lawmakers on Sunday elected acting head of the republic Yunus-bek Yevkurov as the president of Ingushetia, RIA Novosti reports.
Three people were running for the Ingush presidency. Yevkurov was elected by 25 votes. Two lawmakers voted for Uruskhan Yevloyev. No one voted for the third candidate, Magomed Tatriyev, the news agency informs.
Yevkurov announced that he wanted to be sworn in on the same day.
