Moscow acting Mayor Sergey Sobyanin has got 51.33% of votes, Alexey Navalny got 27.27%, Ivan Melnikov got 10.7%, according to 99.83% of protocols processed.
Oleg Matveychev, a professor of the National Research University of the Higher School of Economics, said at a round-table conference in late August that voters for the communists could easily answer questions differently from the way they vote. Many were unfamiliar with Melnikov.
Exit polls of the Public Opinion Foundation were the closest to the vote results: 52.5% for Sobyanin, 29.1% for Navalny, 9.4% for Melnikov.
The 0.17% protocols left for processing cannot affect Sobyanin’s final results. Navalny does not acknowledge results out of polling stations and wants two-round elections.
Sobyanin expressed confidence with his victory on the Bolotnaya Square at about midnight.
