Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev said that most foreign criminals in Russia were CIS citizens (75% of total), RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that three fourths of 24,000 crimes committed by foreigners in Russia in January-June 2013 were done by CIS citizens.
Kolokoltsev said that Russia was paying special attention to development of an interstate program to combat crime in 2014-2018 together. The minister pointed out active cooperation of CIS members in fighting terrorism and extremism.
The official reminded that over 100,000 people were on the international wanted list of the Interior Ministry. The Rozysk Operation had its first stage accomplished in March, resulting in about 200 criminals caught. CIS law enforcers caught about 250 criminals.
