Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has dismissed Saeed Jalili, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, and replaced him with Rear Admiral Ali Shakhmani, Commander of the Navy of the Corps of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, Trend reports.
Shakhmani was the Defense Minister of Iran in August 1997 – August 2005 during presidency of Mohammad Khatami. He was the director of the Center for Strategic Studies of the Iranian Armed Forces and a military advisor of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
