The North Atlantic Alliance supports UN efforts to control the Syrian chemical arsenal in order to stop chemical weapons being used in the country, a NATO official is quoted as saying by ITAR-TASS.
"We don't understand the details of the particular measures suggested by Russia," the official told the news agency, adding that the alliance supports all efforts aimed at controlling chemical weapons anyway.
"The international community is responsible for the situation surrounding use of chemical weapons in Syria," the official said.
