The Krasnodar Territory is marking the 76th anniversary, Yuga.ru reports.
The 3rd Congress of Soviets of the Soviet Union merged the Kuban and Black Sea Republics into the Kuban-Black Sea Soviet Socialist Republic on May 30, 1918. It became a region in March 1920. The region joined the North Caucasus Territory centered in Rostov-on-Don in February 1924. The territory was split into the Azov-Black Sea Territory centered in Rostov-on-Don and North Caucasian Territory centered in Pyatigorsk in January 1934.
The Azov-Black Sea Territory was split into the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Territory on September 13, 1937.
