US and Iranian presidents discuss Syrian crisis

US President Barack Obama and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani have exchanged letters over the ongoing Syrian crisis, Reuters reports.

President Obama said so himself in an interview with the ABC TV channel.

Obama has also said that the Syrian crisis should be a lesson for Iran, meaning that the United States is capable of using force as well as diplomacy as a means of foreign policy.
