Turkish President Abdullah Gul will pay a two-day visit to Azerbaijan, Armenia Today reports, citing the Turkish newspaper Zaman. The visit will be made one month ahead of the military training of NATO in Armenia, in which Ankara expressed readiness to participate.
Gul is expected to arrive on Monday. At the meeting with Ilkham Aliyev, Gul is likely to consider the Karabakh issue, which is an obstacle in normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations.
The military training of NATO in Armenia will be held on September 11-17. The Armenian-Turkish border may be temporarily opened during this period.
The information has already been confirmed by the Foreign Ministry of Turkey. The border will be opened temporarily to transport engineering and other equipment used in the training.
