Tajik parliament to consider agreement on Russian base

The Tajik parliament will discuss the agreement on presence of the 201st Russian military base today, Interfax reports.

The document was signed by Tajik and Russian Presidents Emomali Rahmon and Vladimir Putin on October 5, 2012. Tajikistan and Russia signed an agreement in Moscow on February 8, 2013 on the arrival of Tajik citizens to Russia.

The governmental decree of May 2, 2013, passed the Russian-Tajik intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in shipping petroleum to Tajikistan (signed in Moscow on February 6, 2013). Russia will ship 1 million tons of petroleum to Tajikistan every year with no custom fees.
