Russia to photograph foreigners

Saint Petersburg legislators have introduced amendments to the law on the legal status of foreigners in Russia to the lower chamber of parliament. According to the document, all foreigners entering the country without visas will be photographed and give fingerprints, bfm.ru reports.

Other amendments to the law were introduced by the Culture Ministry on September 17. They will allow transit passengers to stay in Russia for 72 hours. The ministry expects the amendments to boost the income of hotels, air companies and related tourism spheres. The amendments may be passed before the end of 2013.
