Representatives of the Russian State Duma and the Kazakh Parliament agreed today in Aktau on enhancing inter-parliamentary dialogue for cooperation in the Caspian region. According to the participants, systematic inter-parliamentary contacts will play a positive role in strengthening regional cooperation and developing ways to solve existing problems.
In particular, the deputies initiated a permanent Inter-Parliamentary Group, which will involve the member states of the SCO, and agreed to meet regularly as a part of the "Caspian paradigm" in Aktau and other cities on the Caspian Sea, calling on the parliaments of the neighboring countries to join the initiative, RIA Novosti reports.
