Georgia is not going to restore diplomatic ties with Russia in the near future, the Georgian Prime Minister's Special Envoy to Russia Zurab Abashidze said after meeting with Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin.
"Such a move is now unacceptable, as it would mean that Georgia recognizes the current state of affairs," the envoy said, probably referring to Russia's recognition of the Georgian breakaway republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
