Iranian president expresses readiness for nuclear talks at UN

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that he was ready to start negotiating the nuclear program with account of the right for peaceful nuclear energy. Sergey Ivanov, an advisor of the president of the Russian Diplomatic Academy, noted that it was best to wait for the negotiations themselves in order to see whether Rouhani’s words were true or not.

The expert believes that what Rouhani said was an expression of flexibility and could reduce tensions in the Greater Middle East.

Bushehr, the first nuclear power plant in the Middle East, was taken under temporary control of Iran for two months, Ivanov reminds. The West continues accusations of Russia as Iran’s aid in developing the nuclear program.

Rouhani has already arrived in the New York City and will make a speech at the UN General Assembly today. He will participate in the special session for nuclear disarmament as the head of the Non-Aligned Movement. Rouhani will meet Iranian communities and religious leaders in the US.
