Greek and Turkish musicians perform at Halki

The Halki Orthodox Seminary symbolically opened its doors for a historic concert on Istanbul’s Heybeliada Island on September 22, Hurriyet Daily News reports.

The concert, in which musicians from Turkey and Greece performed for peace and friendship, was the first such event at the Halki Seminary, as the school has been closed since 1971.

Participants of the event believe the event will force the Turkish authorities to re-open the seminary.
