A fifth Russian border motor boat, ‘Mongoose’, has arrived in Abkhazia, IA Apsnypress reports.
The motor boat arrived in the port of Ochamchira to assist in the sea security of coastal waters.
Representatives of the regional administration and the command of the border guards of the Russian Security Service in Abkhazia welcomed the motor boat.
According to an old tradition, command members presented a roast suckling pig to the captain.
The border guard boats of Russia started patrolling the border of Abkhazia in December 2009.
Abkhazia is protected by over 1000 Russian border guards. 350 km of border, 215 km of them sea border, are under guard. 98 km of the border is land and 39 km is river.
