A Proton-M carrier rocket with Europe’s Astra 2E satellite was launched at Baikonur. The satellite is under control of SES Astra, RIA Novosti reports.
The satellite weighs 6 tons. It was built by EADS Astrium (France) on the order of SES Astra (Luxembourg). It will broadcast radio and TV channels in the analogue and digital formats and cellphone and Internet connection in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The previous Proton-M was launched on July 2 and resulted in a crash.
