The Tajik parliament has given 57 out of 59 votes for ratification of the agreement on presence of a Russian base in the republic until 2042, RIA Novosti reports.
Tajik Defense Minister Sherali Khayrulloyev called it an important facility for peace and stability in the region. The law on ratification of the agreement was signed by the Russian president in early May. The document with Tajikistan was signed in Dushanbe on October 5, 2012.
