Iran and Gulf states combat drug trafficking

Brigadier-General Ismail Ahmadi Moqaddam, Commander of the Iranian Police Forces, said that Iran and Gulf states achieved progress in combating drug trafficking. Hossein Zulfakari, Commander of the Iranian Border Guards, said that shipments of 44 tons of drugs from Afghanistan had been stopped, ITAR-TASS reports.
Drug couriers were caught on the 936th km of the Iranian-Afghan border.


UN experts say that NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan will cause an increase of volumes of drug trafficking to Western Europe, East and Africa.
