Makhachkala vessel joins Russia’s Caspian Fleet

Alexey Rulyov, spokesman of the Caspian Fleet of Russia, said that a new small artillery ship named Makhachkala had arrived in Astrakhan and joined the fleet.

The ship arrived at the Zolotoy Punkt pound from Saint Petersburg. It is a Buyan-project vessel, the third of its type to join the Caspian Fleet. It was designed by the Zelenodolskoye Project Construction Bureau (Tatarstan) and build at the shipyard of Almaz in Saint Petersburg.

The ship uses stealth technology.
