President of Belarus to visit Iran

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will make an official visit to Iran in October, the Iranian ambassador to Belarus Abdulla Khuseyni said, Trend reports, citing Iranian information agency FARS.


The president plans to discuss further cooperation in trade, engineering manufacturing, industry and energy.


Within the framework of the visit Alexander Lukashenko and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will participate in oil extraction in the ‘Jafir’ oil field. ‘Jafir’ is 30 km from the ‘Azadegan’ oil field and 70 km south-west of Akhvaz city. A contract between Belarus and Iran to develop it was signed in 2007 between ‘Belrusneft’ and the National Oil Company of Iran.
