Over 60 million Russians will go through over 300 scenarios within the framework of civil defense drills started on Friday, Russian Minister for Emergency Vladimir Puchkov said, RIA Novosti reports.
Those are the second such high-scale drills of the civil defense. Each region will have own scenarios. According to the scenario in Dagestan, an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 points (8.5 in epicenter) happened 45km south-east of Makhachkala, killing 30 people and destroying several three-storey and about 200 one-storey buildings in the capital and Izberbash.
The drills will be held in two stages, a theoretic stage followed by a practical one.
