Illegal arms trafficking via South Ossetia is impossible, expert says

This week the North Ossetian office of the Russian Federal Security Service said that the body has stopped illegal arms trafficking via the territory of the Georgian breakaway republic of South Ossetia.

Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the situation with Director of Regional Programs of the Institute of Caspian Cooperation, Vyacheslav Kovalenko.

According to the expert, the situation in the region is now much more stable than before the 2008 war. This means that mass illegal arms trafficking is impossible.
