US forgot about Syria but not for long, expert says

The US authorities have forgotten about the Syrian crisis for some time, but not for long, member of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris Dolgov says.

According to him, the US administration is now focusing on the government shutdown and the ongoing budget debate.

It doesn't mean that the United States will abandon its major aim, which is to overthrow the al-Assad government, the expert says.
