The President of Kabardino-Balkaria, Arsen Kanokov, supports the initiative of Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov, who proposed not to call the heads of Russian federal autonomies ‘presidents’ and requested that the parliament come up with an alternative term, RIA Novosti reports, citing the press-secretary of the head of the region, Jamilya Khagarova.
Kadyrov believes that a single state should have only one president.
The head of Kabardino-Balkaria has also requested the parliament to change the title, Khagarova said. The issue will be considered in September. The new title is uncertain, it may be a unified term like ‘head of the subject of the federation’, she said.
