The vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the head of the Foundation in Russia, Leyla Aliyeva, was awarded the Order of St. Olga of the third class by Patriarch Kirill for her help in opening the monument to St. Vladimir in Astrakhan, in connection with the 1025th anniversary of the Conversion of Russia as well as for her numerous achievements in the area of strengthening the friendship between Russia and Azerbaijan.
The editor-in-chief of Vestnik Kavkaza, Alexei Vlasov, called the work of Leyla Aliyeva "selfless" and highlighted her work in the fields of spirituality, humanities and education.
Vlasov also stressed the importance of Aliyeva's efforts in improving communication in the field of cultural exchange as well as bilateral relations between Russia and Azerbaijan. Vlasov also stressed that the foundation laid by Aliyeva will play an extremely important role in 5-10 years, when the political elites change in Russia as well as Azerbaijan.
