Lithuania blocks Russian TV broadcast

Cgates, Lithuania's second largest cable operator with about 500,000 viewers, stopped broadcasting Channel One (Russia) for a show Chelovek i Zakon (Man and Law) broadcasted at 6.55 pm on October 5, RIA Novosti reports.

The Lithuania and Radio and Television Company said that the show gave false interpretation of the events of January 13, 1991. The issue will undergo more detailed discussions on October 9.

Problems on the Russian-Lithuanian border started in September, when Russian border guards started active checks of trucks from Lithuania. The latter called it discrimination and an attempt to start an economic war.
