US senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham demanded yesterday to check the secret transfers of Syrian chemical weapons and criticized Secretary of State John Kerry's optimism about the utilization of the weapons, RIA Novosti reports.
The senators suspect President Assad of trying to keep part of the chemical arsenal in Libya and fear that Hezbollah may take the weapons under its control. McCain and Graham believe that Syria was trying to use the UN resolution to win some time.
