The presidential polls in Azerbaijan began two hours ago. Mirkazim Kazimov, a member of the Yeni Azerbaijan political council, was one of the first to cast his vote. He expressed hope that the polling process will be normal and everyone will vote for whoever one wants.
Sabir Kyabiroglu said that he voted for Ilham Aliyev. He noted that Azerbaijan was developing fast, despite the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The voter added that foreign observers were monitoring the process. He is confident that Azerbaijan will prosper after the elections.
Rauf Kashimov, head of the electoral commission of one of the polling stations, said that there were monitoring cameras, exit polls, and foreign and local observers.
Dmitry Serov, an OSCE observer from Ukraine, said that the organization had 390 observers split into groups that were moving from one polling station to another. He did not make any comments about the polling process.
