Russia suggests Middle East should be free of weapons of mass destruction

Russia suggests that the Middle East should be free of weapons of mass destruction. The proposal was voiced today by Russia's representative Mikhail Ulyanov at a session of the UN General Assembly.

Acording to the Russian diplomat, the international community should use the opportunity to improve the situation in the region. "As Syria's chemical weapons are expected to be destroyed soon, we should take this chance and free the whole region of weapons of mass destruction," he says.
