Fiorello Provera, Vice Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament monitoring the presidential polls in Azerbaijan, said that his colleagues in the Council of Europe and the European Parliament had visited Baku and other regions and paid special attention to the formal aspect of the elections.
According to Provera, there were no violations, the atmosphere was peaceful both at the polling stations and on the streets. He concluded that the elections were free and democratic.
