Russian President Vladimir Putiт and re-elected head of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a telephone conversation initiated by the Russian side, reported the press service of the Kremlin.
"Today, on the initiative of the Russian side there was a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Vladimir Putin congratulated Ilham Aliyev with a success in the presidential elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan " , reads the post, RIA Novosti reports.
Earlier in his telegram Putin noted that Aliyev's landslide victory in the elections testifies to his highest political authority.
