800 million rubles stolen from Russian financial aid to South Ossetia - Attorney General of South Ossetia

The Attorney General of South Ossetia, Merab Chegoyev, announced today that the inspection of the use of financial aid sent to the country by Russia has resulted in 78 criminal cases for corruption. The culprits in these cases have caused damage to the state of 800 million rubles," he said.

 

35 criminal cases have been sent to  the Russian General Prosecutor's Office, as many of the suspects are now in Russia.

 

One criminal case into the theft of 18 million rubles by the former CEO of "Dorekspostroy" is being considered in the court of North Ossetia, another 10 cases are with the North Ossetian Interior Ministry, two criminal cases were sent to the investigative authorities in Moscow and the Chelyabinsk region, the Attorney General said.

 

He also said that young prosecutors of South Ossetia will take vocational training or improve their skills in the structures and institutions and the Russian Prosecutor General's office and the Investigative Committee.
