The amendments to the treaty dating back to 1995 and concerning Russian military base on Armenian territory might be introduced in the course of Russian President's visit to Armenia scheduled on the next week, Armenia Today reports.
According to the preview of these amendments the term of Russian base operations is to be prolonged from 25 to 49 years. Moreover, the base will no longer protect Russian interests omly, it will also co-operate with Armenian forceds to ensure the security of Armenian Republic and supply the Republic's army with arms and military technology.
