German Foreign Minister and former vice chancellor Guido Westerwelle says the EU-sponsored Eastern Partnership project has no anti-Russian undertone whatsoever, RIA Novosti reports.
The project is aimed at supporting stable democratic societies based on the rule of law, the top German official says.
Westerwelle underlines that the European Union is signing free area agreements with neighbouring states in order to promote mutual ties, not to harm other countries.
Russia is also welcome to participate in the project, Westerwelle says.
