Georgian State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Alexi Petriashvili and NATO Deputy Secretary of State Alexander Vershbow have met in Brussels and discussed prospects of NATO integration, politics, Georgia's upcoming presidential polls and democratic processes, Trend reports.
EU special advisor Thomas Hammarberg reflected on the progress of reforms in Georgia.
Vershbow confirmed a readiness to support Georgia on its way towards integration in NATO.
Petriashvili expressed hope that NATO will take Georgian contributions to the ISAF operation and democratic reforms into account when making decisions.
Petriashvili met Sorin Ducaru, NATO Assistant Secretary of State for Emerging Security Challenges, and Jean-Baptiste Mattei, French representative to the NATO.
