Iran and the six mediators (five permanent members of the UNSC and Germany) have discussed the Iranian nuclear program in Geneva today, ITAR-TASS reports.
Iran proposed a step-by-step plan to settle the dispute over its nuclear program within the framework of the IAEA within 6-12 months. Tehran hopes that talks with the six mediators would not be dragged out.
The previous round of talks was held in Almaty in April. New Iranian President Hassan Rouhani inspired optimism in the negotiation process. He emphasized at the 68th session of the UN General Assembly in New York that the nuclear program was of a peaceful nature and that nuclear weapons had no place in the military doctrine of Iran.
