Professor Matthias Dornfeldt, member of the Berlin Center for Research of the Caspian Region, said that 72% of the regional GDP of the Caucasus belonged to Azerbaijan. The country was realizing the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway project, modernizing the Heydar Aliyev Airport, Port Alyat, expanding Baku Subway.
He added that Azerbaijan was an important partner for the West and East as the Eurasia center, a bridge of the EU and US to Central Asia and Far East. Professor Dornfeldt said that they were partners for Russia, Georgia, but Azerbaijan was unique between the Black and Caspian Seas.
