There are 3.6 million illegal aliens in Russia, deputy head of the Federal Service of Migration Yelena Radochina said at the first meeting of the Public Chamber's working group for monitoring the situation in Moscow's Biryulyovo district.
"According to our information, there are now some 11.3 million foreign citizens in Russia. 3.6 million of them are illegal aliens," Radochina is quoted as saying by ITAR-TASS.
A popular uprising in Biryulyovo started after a Russian person was killed by a migrant worker. Local residents believe the police are reluctant to find the killer.
