The Russian Federal Migration Service has approved appointment of an ombudsman or a commissioner for interethnic affairs and migration policy, RIA Novosti reports.
The agency clarified that such official should be a skilled specialist of migration problems and capable of coordinating work with diasporas in every region of Russia.
The Russian Presidential Council for Interethnic Relations announced the proposal to appoint the ombudsman or commissioner today.
